Kia ora, in Te Ngahere we have been doing Chrome Music Lab. Chrome Music Lab is a website where you can make songs, rhythms, moods and other musical instruments. My favourite thing to do on Chrome Music Lab is to make songs. You click on the different squares and it makes a different sound depending on what square you click on. I have made 1 song on Chrome Music Lab. Chrome Music Lab is very fun and enjoyable if you haven’t already, you should try it out. Have you ever used Chrome Music Lab?

Do You Know Area And Perimeter?
Kia ora, in Te Ngahere we have been learning how to figure out area and perimeter. We had some windows and we had to figure out how much one square of glass cost according to the amount the whole window cost. Some would have the same area but different prices because you also had to figure out the price of one grid of window frame. It was a very simple task and I enjoyed solving it. I hope you enjoyed my post. Do you like math?

Do You Know Anything About Newton’s Laws Of Motion?
Kia ora, in Te Ngahere we have been writing an explanation piece of writing to show what we have learnt in the Wonder Project (I have another post about Wonder Project if you don’t know what it is about). Our writing needed an orientation, three paragraphs and a conclusion. I decided to write each of my paragraphs about how each one of Newton’s laws of motion affects the flight of bottle rockets. I think I did well at explaining how each one of Newton’s laws of motion affects the flight of bottle rockets. Do you know anything about Newton’s laws of motion?
Here is my writing
How The Forces Of Motion Apply To Bottle Rockets.
The forces of motion.
Bottle rockets need three forces of motion to fly. The first law of motion is an object will stay
at rest unless acted on by another force. The second law of motion is the more weight an
object has the more force will be required to move it. The third law of motion is every action
has an equal and opposite reaction. All these laws apply to the flight of bottle rockets.
1. How law one applies to the flight of bottle rockets.
Newton’s first law “An object will stay at rest unless acted on by another force” uses the
thrust/ air pressure to fly. Thrust is what makes your rocket fly through the air without the
thrust the rocket would go nowhere the thrust is the force that acts on the bottle rockets.
You pump the air from the pump to the bottle rocket to create the thrust/ the air pressure.
You then release the air pressure which then creates another force making the rocket fly.
2. How law two applies to the flight of bottle rockets.
Newton’s second law “The more weight you have, the more force you need to move an
object. The more weight you have the more PSI required to move the rocket. The weight
in the rocket is the water and the water shoots out when the air pressure comes out. Say if
there was 10 Psi and 400mls of water the rocket would be too heavy for the pressure to take
effect and the rocket won’t fly. But if there is a good amount of water and Psi, the air
pressure will take effect and start flying.
3. How law three applies to the flight of bottle rockets.
Newton’s third law “Every action has an equal and opposite reaction” The rocket uses the
air pressure to fly. Air pressure goes the opposite direction of the rocket to move the rocket
in forward. The water in the rocket also goes the opposite direction to help push the rocket
through the air. The action is the rocket is flying forward and the opposite reaction is the
water and air pressure is going the opposite direction to help the rocket fly forward.
The laws of motion are important in the flight of a bottle rocket. Without knowing how the
laws of motion affect the rocket. It would be harder to get a successful rocket flight.

Do You Know How To Write A Blog Post?
In Te Ngahere we have been learning to write a quality blog post. We have been writing blog post, so the readers can comment on them. A quality blog post has a catchy title to get the reader engaged with your post so they will read it. It also needs an introduction to introduce yourself and the subject that you are learning. You will also need a DLO (Digital Learning Object), a DLO is something that you use to show what you have learnt, it could be a photo or just explaining how you solved something. You also need a reflection which is something that you base upon yourself, you say what you could have done better, you could also say what you did well. I used to struggle writing a good blog post but I practiced and now I think I am a lot better than I used to be. Lastly you need a question my question is. Have you ever Written a blog post before? Thank you for reading my post.

Have You Ever Launched A Rocket?
Kia ora, in Te Ngahere we have been launching rockets for our Wonder Project. If you don’t know what the Wonder Project is, it is an engineering project for schools in New Zealand where you learn how a rocket works, and then later on you will get to launch your own plastic rockets. First you need to design your rockets fins and where they will go on your rocket, you also needed to list what materials you will be using. My groups fins were made out of cardboard and we used duct tape and hot glue to stick them to the bottle. When it was time to launch, we filled our bottle with 250mls of water and pumped our pump up to 50 psi. Our rocket didn’t launch on the first try, so we refilled it then tried again. This time it flew but it didn’t fly to far. After landing all our fins had broken off our rocket. The Wonder Project is a very fun activity to do. I can’t wait for our next launch. Have you ever launched a plastic bottle rocket?
